International Ceramics MuseumFaenza, April 20-21 2008 Two days dedicated to the fine art of ceramics and the wines of “Convito di Romagna”. Thirty producers from Emilia Romagna and their best vintages. Massimo Bottura from the “Francescana” in Modena and Valentino Marcatilii of “San Domenico” in Imola interpret the Sangiovese grape and the land of its origins for their public. Space dedicated to the oils of the Romagna hills. Guests of honor include the Barolo from “Cantina Comunale of Castiglione Faletto”. All will be present during the 3rd annual “Vini ad Arte” event organized by the eight member wineries of “Convito di Romagna” (TreMonti, Stefano Ferrucci, Fattoria Zerbina, Poderi Morini, Calonga, Drei-Donà-Tenuta La Palazza, San Valentino, San Patrignano) at the spectacular International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, where Romagna’s most distinctive art forms are celebrated. “The vine and the olive tree both spring from the earth and are direct expressions of the land. Ceramics are also intrinsic to our culture”, explains Cristina Geminiani, president of the Convito. “Ceramics are made of clay, which also makes up the earth on which our vineyards grow. To make a beautiful vase or a great bottle of wine, patience and care are needed”. This event aims to promote the Romagna region’s wines to an increasingly wide public. Already wine enthusiasts as well as critics in all the major national and international guides have praised the wines produced by the “Convito”. The challenge is to bring attention to the region’s other quality producers, by inviting them to “Vini ad Arte”. The Museum will be outfitted with tasting areas where wineries will be presenting their wares. An area will also be dedicated to food and wine journalists, so that they may meet the producers and taste the wines. Special menus have already been planned, featuring seasonal recipes from the region, and will be available to the public and press. As always, Sunday the 20th (from 2pm to 7pm) will be dedicated to the public and wine enthusiasts. Meanwhile, Monday the 21st (11am to 10pm) will be reserved to those working in the field: chefs, restaurateurs, wine merchants and importers. Convito di Romagna – Press Office |
