Over 4000 sq.m of exhibition space
From Naples to Trieste, the extravirgin olive oil trail
Trieste, 4 February 2009 – The third edition of “Olio Capitale – Salone of typical and quality extravirgin olive oils”, set to take place in the pavilions of the Trieste Fiera from 6 to 9 March, has been literally taken by storm, and offers more than 4000 sq.m of exhibition space (increase of 1000 sq.m over the previous edition). Organised by Fiera Trieste S.p.a. in collaboration with the National Association Città dell’Olio, the Salone will see the best national and foreign products taking the stage in the capital city of Friuli Venezia Giulia for a four-day programme where speciality and quality olive oil products will be stars of the show. The trade fair – already given top rating as a specialist occasion where leading national and foreign producers can compare notes and visitors and restaurateurs from the Alpe Adria area and elsewhere can get together –also boasts a rich array of parallel events. The growing culture of olive oil means that many restaurateurs will be taking part in the conferences and tasting sessions, to learn in depth about the many special aspects of this oil, which has become a true complementary food. And while the restaurateurs take up the opportunity to expand their knowledge and engage directly with producers, visitors will have the chance to taste and purchase the very best from national and foreign production. All regions of Italy will be represented at this appointment in Trieste, with particularly high numbers of producers from Lazio, Calabria, Abruzzo, Molise, Marche, Tuscany, Sicily, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Apulia, Sardinia, Veneto, Piedmont, Umbria, Emilia Romagna, Liguria and Campania. In addition, many producers from Slovenia and Croatia have already registered to participate.
