# Market Hall's Picnic in the Street and Rockridge Out and About Street Festival — 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 27. Featuring the area's businesses and services with a something-for-everyone street fair. Outside and alongside the shops and restaurants, over half a mile of College Avenue becomes the stage for local musicians, street performers, fashion shows, cooking demos, in-store workshops, wellness activities, and hundreds of merchant, artisan and community booths. # Hoes Down Harvest Celebration — Oct. 3-4. On Oct. 3, the festival will feature educational farm tours, a children's area, games, live music, local farm products and an abundance of fresh, organic food. Hay rides will continuously tour the farm. There will be workshops on tree pruning, herb gardening, solar energy, composting and more, a craft marketplace of farm-made products and an all-organic farmers' market. The children's area has arts and crafts, storytelling and music, farm animals and games, and contests with an agricultural theme. Kids will have a chance to watch a cow being milked, make felt out of wool and grind corn. Admission: $5-$20, younger than 2 free. Camping on Saturday night: $20 per car. # 9th annual Crabby Chefs Seafood Festival and Benefit — 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 11. The festival includes a colorful Iron Chef style culinary competition that culminates with a Crabby Chef being chosen, plus, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. outdoor food booths will be selling cooked crab, crab cakes, clam chowder and other seafood delights, along with beer, wine and soft drinks, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Cal Recreational Sports Development Funds Camp Scholarship Program.
